Weary with Toil, I haste me to my Bed,
The dear Repose for Limbs with Travail tired;
But then begins a Journey in my Head
To work my Mind, when Body's Work's expired.
For then my Thoughts (from far where I abide)
Intend a zealous Pilgramage to Thee,
And keep my drooping Eyelids open wide,
Looking on Darkness which the Blind do see;
Save that my Soul's imaginary Sight
Presents their Shadow to my Sightless View,
Which, like a Jewel hung in ghastly Night,
Makes black Night beauteous and her old Face new.
Lo thus by Day my Limbs, my Night my Mind,
For Thee, and for my Self, no Quiet find.

No me gusta la autoridad. no es una sopresa.
Don't you hate it when I put things in Spanish just to prove that I can?
So here is what I learned today.... I don't like authority. It isn't a surprise.
Oh, by the way, that isn't what the Spanish above says.
Oh, by the way, yes it is.
Got 'em.
Yeah it's obvious that I put on the image that I don't like authority. It's a requirement for having a blog. And, yes, people tell me that I don't listen to authority well, but I don't usually listen to those people because I'm too busy listening to authority, except...wait...no I'm not. I'm NOT busy listening to authority. I'm busy being a self-absorbed prick. Why didn't anyone tell me!??
This is why I don't listen to authority. Because there is no authority in my world. There is me being the boss of me and that's my life.
So, should I change this?
Right now I'm thinking I should. Why? Because I was an ornary biatch today...really everyday. I get SO pissed in classrooms. It's immediate. I walk in and then I become a 21 year old drunk guido and I need to fist pump, then get in a bar fight, and let everyone know that I'm the king of Jersey. In the moment it seems so appropriate. I feel like classes are wasting my time and that teachers don't respect me because I'm a student, and I feel like theatre people are so fond of hearing themselves speak that they find any excuse to ask a long question that incorporates too much pausing. You guys! Pacing! Learn it! It's pretty much all we study! But now, that I'm bloggin,g I realize that ,I am wasting you,r time, I am ,,not respecting you,, as a reader, and that I ,am a little more than f,ond of hearing, (or seeing, rather) myself speak in this bloggy blog (those commas call for pauses).
So while yes, I really do think school is wasting my time, por lo general (did I mention I speak Spanish?), many of my theatre professors and peers do know what they are talking about and I should listen. So I apologize for being a diva.
BUT THEN AGAIN, maybe I'm so pissed all the time because things need to change and I need to start a revolution. I would be great at that! I can appeal to the masses with my gender neutral appearance and my rapport with cultural minorities (whatever that means).
Oh. Side note. I got my census packet today, and was very excited about it. Then I filled it out, and got offended. I'm not quite sure why.
Back to my revolution. I will revolt against the establishment, and other very specific things such as that. And then I will get arrested and people will make t-shirts that beg for my liberation, and then the war in Afghanistan and Iraq will end, and the my bf will come home, and then I'll spend all my time with him, then I'll forget about my revolution and my followers will turn against me, and then I will be elected to Congress because that is the next logical step, and then I will get my picture taken with the Pope.
Somewhere in there, I'll probably stop blogging so it's a win for everyone really.
See, if authority spoke as clearly and concisely and deliberately and brilliantly as that above paragraph, I'd listen.
My hypocrisy is upsetting. The picture of the Pope and I will be next to "hypocrisy" in the dictionary.
This post proves why I am not good at Twitter. And it also proves why the plays and/or sitcoms I write will never actually go anywhere and won't contribute anything to society.. like LOST
OH NO SHE DIDN'T!
Fine. I'll allow you to watch Lost, if you promise not to go to the circus. If you want to know more, I'm going to post information about circuses in my next post.

There is angry subtext in this post.
So, I am pretty sure I have had an iron deficiency because I have been ridiculously (oh. and people. it's RIdiculous. not REdiculous. You are not diculousling again)( sorry... that was condescending. You guys are precious little sweetie cuties pies) fatigued and delirious. I have been taking 3 naps a day and getting dizzy. I realized, though, that because I have been Veggie-ing it again...it's probably because of that. Vegetarianism is such a douche. Here I am supporting it and loving it, and it's going to college 800 miles away and dating some asshole that I have clearly said that she should not be dating. Metaphorically, of course.
I'm watching "Fame," the new movie version, with Reggie right now. It is discouraging to me because all these kids are very talented but they are in this movie. Then, I think about my life, and I know that I am ridiculously talented but I am WATCHING this movie. Then I think about the things I say, and I know I should stop talking, but I won't.

So, I know this has been the theme of the past too many posts, but it's what's on my mind. Here it is. I am graduating in less than 2 months. Like....real talk. Me. Real world. Responsibilities. Money. MARRIAGE? KIDS? MORTGAGES? BOOK CLUBS???
I know EVERYONE says this, but I want my life to be lived outside the box. Mainly because I want my autobiography and Lifetime Movie about my life to make me millions so that I can buy a mansion and hire illegal immigrants cheaply so that I use most of my money on designer brand blenders and purses and then have a kid who will grow up to be an heiress who will then make her own millions by having a reality show and a perfume line that is tested on animals and then she will be the spokesperson for a diet pill that will help thousands of fatties lose weight and then about half of them will die young from cancer and the other half will have mysterious pain that comes and goes so they go to the doctor and spend thousands of dollars on prescription drugs that are tested on animals and used on Africans before given to those upper-class white women with health insurance when all they really needed to do was drink more water and eat foods that aren't filled with hormones and pesticides and all sorts of chemicals.
Whoa. I think I just blacked out. What was I sayin?
Right. Graduating. When I graduate, I am going to live.
Actually... shouldn't I be living now?
Here is my advice for the day. Listen to it. Don't question it. Believe everything I say, and then teach your kids to believe everything I say and then continue this pattern for thousands of years and at some point someone will write a book based on my teachings that will become sacred and then people will use my words to justify wars, segregate the masses, and prevent people from asking questions about what they eat, who they vote for, or how they should live their life because companies and candidates and television evangelists throw the word "Katlyn" around to make all they say seem good on the surface.
Blackout again.
HERE is my advice: Don't base your life on something that is "coming up." Don't say, "As soon as ____ happens, I'll be happy." Be happy in this very moment. BE HAPPY!
So I'm done saying, "As soon as I graduate, I'll be happy," or "As soon as Matt comes back, I'll be happy," "Or as soon as Ingrid stops attacking me in random fits of rage, I'll be happy." I'll be happy now, and that's all I can really control. Who knows what the future holds? So if I depend on something that is coming in the future, there is no guarantee that I'll ever really get there.
I want to make a metaphor about a wasted life being like Christmas shopping at Walmart, but I won't.
Oh yes. AND HAPPY THURSDAY! Thursdays are awesome. Celebrate it somehow. Even if its just by running outside while its raining. I always find that thrilling.
I love you all, and I hope that my angsty rants don't turn you off. All I really want to do is turn you on.

I like it
Why is life so fucking beautiful?
Even in the hardest of times, it is possible to appreciate life.
I love you.

Rest in Peace, Jane Miles
Coldplay always knows how to say things much clearer and more beautiful than I ever seem to be able to. As small and insignificant a gesture it may be, I want to dedicate this post to the beautiful Jane Miles who passed away earlier today. She has inspired me with her ability to remain positive and always selfless in the face of circumstances that the average person would be destroyed by. She was no average woman though. Her beauty lives on in her loving compassionate children and the countless lives she touched just by simply being herself. If I ever decide to grow up and get my life together, I hope to be half the woman she was- the amazing mother, wife, preschool teacher, boyfriend's mother (as she was for me), and friend (as she was for me)
I love you and will continue to learn from your life, just as so many others will.
"Yellow" by Coldplay
dedicated to Jane Miles
Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah they were all yellow,
I came along
I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called yellow
So then I took my turn
Oh all the things I've done
And it was all yellow
Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
D'you know you know I love you so
You know I love you so
I swam across
I jumped across for you
Oh all the things you do
Cause you were all yellow
I drew a line
I drew a line for you
Oh what a thing to do
And it was all yellow
Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
D'you know for you i bleed myself dry
For you i bleed myself dry
Its true look how they shine for you
look how they shine for you
look how they shine for you
look how they shine for you
look how they shine for you
look how they shine
look at the stars look how they shine for you
I love you and will continue to learn from your life, just as so many others will.

Through blogging, I can handle it all. OH and the amazing people in my life help a lot too.
I know at the end of all this, I'll be better, and I know that other people have it so much worse than I do. I just need to stay positive.
I am blessed to have AMAZING friends (thank you Reggie and Mitch and Martha and Seth and Mark for being great even when I'm pissy and impossible and sad), the perfect man who loves me even though I'm a hot mess, the ability to do what I love, my health, and my perfect looks.
I'm joking about one of those.
My friends are douchebags.
Too far.
I love you all.
