Do What You Can!

Hey animals!

You're looking sexy today.

Now that I have vegan-buttered you up, do what I say! Just kidding.... but if you have time, read this:

I am really busy lately, and I have had very little time to do anything. Sadly, animals are the ones who suffer when us activists get busy. In response to my schedule, I have decided to try the Vegan thing again. It's been about a month. So far, so good. With this post I just want to give you a little reminder of what you can do!

1) Stop buying products tested on animals; It isn't difficult. I'm on a student's budget and can hack it. It feels just smashing opening that bottle of shampoo with the "not tested on animals" written on it. Everyone can agree that cosmetic materials should not be tested on animals!

2) Report any acts of cruelty you witness against animals. If there's that creepy neighbor who keeps his dog pinned in the backyard all day with no one to play with him, report his ass and tell him to suck it! Don't do exactly that.. but just imagine being a playful little dog stuck to a tree by a chain with NO ONE to play with. Our animals deserve attention and care. If you adopt a pet, you have to take care of it!

3) Eat less meat! (no meat at all= awesome) It will be so much better for your health. The unnecessary consumption of something that causes pain to someone else is gross, and that is the definition of excessive meat-eating. Let's not permit our species to be wasteful and ridiculous.

4) Talk about stuff! And by stuff, I mean animal rights! No matter what your opinion, talking allows the truth to be uncovered as much as possible. There is so much time, money, and life invested in the "animal industry", it would be ignorant and irresponsible to not be educated on it.

Alrighty... I'm starving now. I'm gunna go eat a Vegan treat and go to class. I really appreciate all of you who have contacted me and supported the small and large aspects of animal rights. Do what you can!

Peace to all beings.
Paz a todos.

Did anyone else see the America's Next Top Model episode where the women posed in meat outfits in front of animal carcasses?

Aburrida!!!!!

Hola amigos!

No sé.

"Take back your mink"

I'm in the musical Guys and Dolls. There is a song called, "Take Back Your Mink." It prompted me to post this reminder.

Fur doesn't come from animals that are already dead. They are killed solely for their fur and tortured for it. All they have is the skin on their backs, and we take it from them. You can stay warm and fashionable without the skin of an animal. Human is beautiful. Animal is beautiful. Respect life.

Jews do it best

Oh Kosher... sounds so classy.

To all meat eaters (Jews, Christians, Atheists, Etc.): You cause the torture and suffering of millions upon millions every year. I know so many people (some friends, some family) who avoid watching videos such as these on a number of animal rights issues, such as animal testing, circuses, fur, and pet shops. Ignorance is bliss, as they say. It truly disgusts me that humans can think that this treatment isn't wrong. No suffering is necessary. NONE. Enjoy your burger, chicken nuggets, etc. Not only are they killing you through contamination,  hormone use, and cancer, and killing the environment by gross factory farming (where most meat comes from) and methane from cows, and destroying the minds of the sick individuals who do not watch these videos but rather are a part of them, but they are also causing the prolonged and horrible suffering of each individual cow, chicken, turkey, duck, pig, etc. One day, when someone comes to your house, steals your dog or cat, pins it down, slits its throat, hangs it from a hook, and watches it suffer, I hope you can remain ignorant. If you think animals are inferior... then that means ALL animals are inferior. Not all except your precious pets.

Enjoy the day.

*Millions of animals are bleeding from their throats, being stabbed in the gut, being stepped on by a fur farm worker, being cut open while conscious and injected with bleach chemicals, being stabbed with hooks by Barnum & Bailey and other entertainment acts, and starving to death on the streets because breeders prevent homeless animals from finding homes.

This is real. This is not an exaggeration. It can really cause someone to hate the world.

Go ahead and justify it in your head with the Bible, or Darwin, or with your selfish cravings for a cheeseburger. It is easy to ignore a problem. It is easy to make excuses. It's easy to be okay with something that you don't have to do first hand. Hitler thanks you. Hitler thanks the Kosher meat industry.

A Small Voice

I was laying in my room last night when I heard a small voice at the door. I said "hello" and the voice returned. The voice was lonely and tired and sad. It moved me out of my bed and to its location. I opened the door and the small voice thanked me. I offered my company and he leaped at the chance. He joined me, and I was calm. I smiled genuinely and fell asleep with that same smile and awoke with that same smile and that same small voice let me know he was there with me.

I have a renewed love for my best animal friends, my "pets". In particular, Megatron (my roommate's cat) amuses me constantly. He is sassy and does not put up with my shit. He loves to come in my room and knock over any cups of water I may be sipping. He likes to hit my mirror in search of the mysterious grey cat that lives within it. He loves to eat popcorn in bed with me, but will only eat those with a lot of my vegan butter on them. The other pieces he shuns in disgust. He does so many quirky things that really give me a sense of his unique personality. My favorite thing that he does is at around the same time every night he sits at my door and meows in the dark until I open it and let him on my bed. And then, every morning at 7am on the dot he purrs in my face to awaken me.
Megatron represents animals' ability to coexist with humanity. He shows me that he has a place in this world and reminds me of how lonely I would be without him. A world with no animals, but a world, say, with just meat lying around, would be lonely and ugly. Think upon how many times you've loved your pet or observed another animal in wonder. We all have enjoyed the company of animals. That should be reason enough to respect their lives- lives that deserve to live outside of cruelty. Do what you can to remove CRUELTY from the lives of animals. Buy products not tested on animals, go vegetarian, boycott the circus, don't support pet stores. Do any or all of these things. Your own religious, world, moral, social, etc., views can fit into a humane, cruelty-free world with animals.
