You Love Beagles
I live with these jokers. I know all about them... what they like to eat, to wear, to read, how they eat their vegan eggs, and how big they've grown. Like, if I wanted to buy the beagle, Chance, some shoes and a tux I would know the size.
And I also know that these three animals support my cause, and they inspire it. If you have ever had a pet at your house or been close to an animal, you have a vegetarian clawing viciously to get out. Sometimes, though, the influence of the media and society in general can drown out the good and replace it with the "corporate good." We grow up eating meat, buying products tested on animals, and going to the circus. I never questioned these things as a child, and consequently I have spent most of my life supporting them. I am ashamed that if I, a crazy vegan, was a pie chart, the majority of my circular form would be colored red for time as a meat eater. If I had learned the truth behind the horrendous practices performed against animals when I was younger, that wouldn't be so. Just because something is the norm does not mean that it isn't terrible, and I now I know this. I hope to inspire others to open their hearts and minds and forget society for just long enough to realize that humans are beautiful powerful beings, but the group mentality of humanity can be destructive. Use your right to think for yourself. Turn off the TV, put down the magazine, stop reading this blog... just long enough to separate from the group and start anew. We all have so much junk imprinted onto our minds that heavily influence all our decisions. Take some time each day to try to undo some of that damage. None of us are pure, and none of us with ever be. But, working towards a more real and true "you" will expand your world and give you so much more control.
Don't eat your pets
Pets are animals.

Llamas Are The Answer
So, I went to a wedding today with Reggie. There were llamas there. Yes... it was a wedding on a llama farm. So, I got crunk and drunk with the llamas and danced the night away to stevie wonder and michael jackson. It was very fun, and very vegan. I reeeeeeeeeeeeallllly wanted the cake though, and my drunk ass almost broke my vegan vows of love on this occasion of vow exchanges and love. BUT, my good friend Reggie told me no and when Reggie gets drunk he is scary as a meth addict. So I listened.
Thank you Reggie.
So, to all you who are not veggies, it is okay to be supportive to your Animal Lover friends. I, personally, am sick of the teasing and pressuring from certain people who seem annoyed by my choice to abstain from meat eating. Reggie, a non-vegetarian, did me a favor and reminded me that if everyone would just chill the fuck out and stop trying to convert everyone, the world would be much less stressful and Gangland on the History Channel may be a little less intense and fucked up.
I will not tell you to be Vegetarian, if you will just allow me to do my thing. This blog is my passive attempt to educate the world and allow individuals to decide for themselves- not force everyone to be like me... Come on... I'm way to cool and me trying to force you to be like me would be setting ridiculous standards for the common populations.
Ok.. I need tums.
Don't argue.
Keep the Peace.
Drink water with ice.
Listen to JT and MJ.
Rock out with your cock out.
Vegan with wine,
katlyn

Violet Hill
The three main points I want to get across:
A) I love Coldplay.
B) Today was a fantastic day. I didn't have to tell anyone to suck it.
C) It's cold as a witch's titty in my room right now.
So... I took cow pictures today at Rachael's home of amazingness, but that girl just threw them away like they were the panties your ex got you that make you feel awkward. I would be pissed, but she's a vegetarian so I love her without fail. I woke up next to her this morning actually. It was scandalous. Don't worry... nothing happened between me and her.... me and the cows on the other hand. Oh ha. Bestiality jokes are great for any blog.
Moving on. I saw beautiful scenes of the natural variety while driving to and from Alabama, and it made me a happy vegan rather than a cynical one for once. It set the mood for a great day. I had lunch with my mom, bro, aunt, and uncle. Then, I had a tap showcase with my tap homies (everyone should have tap homies), and then I hung out with James and ate among the hispanics at El Mesón. Ending the day surrounded by my peeps (namely the hispanohablantes) was the vegan whipped cream on the top of my soy sundae of a day. Oh, and I got the part I auditioned for at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre so you better freakin be there mid-july because I have to wear roller blades, and the last time I got on roller blades you promised to spot me but then you left me for you slut ex-girlfriend to go get dunkin donuts.
Anywaysie... I'm tired because I have been very busy lately. Plus I just ate like 65 tums to simmer down the effects of the irresistibly hot salsa I consumed, and I know they are just tums but I think I may be hallucinating. I'm okay with it though. I've been sober for too long anyway.
While this post may not change the world, it is clinically proven to cure what ails ya. Ok.. now I really gotta go.
Thank you for reading this.
Respect all life

Look.
We must think before we shop.
Shopping is an amazing way to change the world. Force corporations to supply what we demand: cruelty-free products. No animal testing, no disrespect for animal life, no sweatshop labor, no rhinestones.
Don't be a mindless consumer.

A Shift Into A New Movement

First of all:
If you have a sibling, take care of him/her. I love my brother more than I love anyone, and love is the only thing that can change this world. If you care about animals, the environment, human rights, whatever, and you do not know love then you will never fully understand what you are fighting so hard for. My brother is not a vegan, but he is my best support and doesn't even realize it. Suck it to the haters.
Another idea that I have pondered today:
An overwhelming majority of the Chattanooga youth (including my precious brother) are sitting comfy in their tye-dye (sp??) while the years bring us further from the 60s. Why are the 60s so hot right now????
The 60s are dead. Let's find our own identity because looking in the past isn't moving us any further from the pain of this war or the suffering of today's animals. Our movement begins the day we take responsibility for our own actions and see the world around us through our own eyes. We need the eyes of a new savior: not of Jesus Christ or John Lennon. We need the eyes of a real person: not a political talking head. We need our own peace sign, our own revolution. I believe that this revolution should begin with the leveling of all beings: humans are animals. When this idea is encouraged, we cannot help but respect the land, the animals, and inevitably and so perfectly respect each other. All falls in line when we love our surroundings and thus are surrounded by love. Discriminating love is just discrimination. Women's rights, the rights of all races, religious rights, gay rights, etc. can all make new statements in the history books of the future if animal rights are asserted today. I do not wish for the children of the future to be reading the same shitty text books in the same shitty schools with the same shitty notions because our generation- a generation with a tremendous opportunity to shift the consciousness of the world- spends too much time whining about how great the 60s were. The aspects of the 60s that were great all depended on a new unsilence (yea- my word). Nothing was still. Everything was moving- ergo a movement happened. I fear today that the majority of people either ignore the need for change because of selfish laziness OR they mimic a generation that created their destiny. The young adults of 2008 need to create our destiny- not copy an outdated and incompatible plan. Come on, we have Ipods now. Yea... Ipods... so that's a start. Anyway, I know Jimi Hendrix still makes your groin tickle, but we are escaping the now by way of the sixties. We are doing their drugs and listening to their music- the purple haze is keeping us in that generation's shadow. So sober up and see that we have new problems today that can't be solved in your basement with your old records and sweet Grateful Dead calender that you got at Bonnaroo. My advice for our generation's first real step:
A (free) Vegetarian Starter Kit from the PETA website. It may just be the starter of our movement.
BTW: Elvis really is dead too.

Katlyn
